Teachers share how much paid parental leave they get The issue of parental and family leave has been in the headlines in recent weeks as President Biden pushes to create a national standard for paid family and medical leave. And a recent social media campaign for #showusyourleave highlighted the dire state of affairs for family vacations in the United States. Nine states and the District of Columbia require some level of paid parental leave, but federal law only guarantees new parents six weeks of unpaid leave.
