Breezy and Cheerful Small Pebble Beach Cottage Makeover

The holiday season is here, fall is almost over and winter is knocking hard on the door. It's about time that it's getting uncomfortably cold outside and many of us are longing for the warmer days we've left behind. While we can't really change the weather outside, we can change how we perceive the world around us by creating a home that feels cheery, bright, and cozy. Even if you love the look of the classic cabin style in winter, there is still plenty of room for the classic beach style this winter. And it is precisely this style that Studio Schicketanz chose for the revision little cottage in pebble beach.

The idea behind the makeover was to redesign an interior to let in more natural light, create a feeling of freshness and ensure it doesn't get boring even during the darker winter months. A series of floor-to-ceiling glass walls and wood-framed windows bring natural light into this living room, which is cleanly filtered through the soft, sheer curtains. The woody ceiling and floor add a touch of charismatic coastal atmosphere to the surroundings, with the dining area and kitchen on a level higher than the living area.

Cleverly placed windows, mirrors in various rooms, and a neutral color palette add the finishing touches to the beachfront transformation. A skylight in the bathroom and windowsill in the small, comfortable bedroom also enhance indoor ventilation, while neatly placed sconces and recessed lighting brighten the interior after the sun goes down. An imaginative and enjoyable makeover!
