We are excited to introduce our team of grade level and department teachers! This team consists of teachers from across the US and will bring their voices and ideas to make WeAreTeachers more helpful, uplifting and useful in your teaching life. Kindergarten: Keri Brown

Keri is a kindergarten teacher in central Alabama and has been teaching for over 13 years! She loves to travel, decorate her classroom, meet other teachers and create engaging materials for her students. She is obsessed with all things technology and loves teaching her kids how to use it. Reading picture books, doing crafts in the classroom and enjoying being a classroom family are some of her favorite pastimes. Sign up for Keri's weekly kindergarten update! First Class: Valerie Ruckes

Valerie Rucke's first grade teacher

Valerie has taught at Rochester Community Schools in Rochester, Michigan for 21 years. She has taught both 3rd and 1st grade. Val currently teaches first graders on the district's virtual campus. Val is a mentor for the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP) in her district. She has also served as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team at her building. Second Class: Stephanie Sanders

Stephanie Sanders is from sunny South Florida and has a Masters in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership. As a class teacher for almost two decades, she has experience with all grade levels and types of learners at the elementary level. Third Class: Allyson Caudill

Allyson is a National Board-certified K-3 language teacher, blogger, curriculum writer, and co-founder of ReadySetCoteach, an elementary co-teaching team based out of Raleigh, NC. Along with her co-teachers, she regularly presents at educational conferences on the topics of inclusion, collaboration, literacy and language, and has contributed to WeAreTeachers on several occasions. With 10 years of experience, two abroad and eight in the US, she is fluent in Spanish (mostly) and loves working with students and educators from all over the world! Fourth grade: Tamara Moore

Tamara is a 3-5 black queer preschool teacher in Colorado. She is a social justice educator and is committed to using her voice/platform to help dismantle oppressive systems in education and beyond. Tamara's loves in the classroom are picture books, math and empowering students to use their voices inside and outside of the classroom. She is also the small business owner of an inclusive Etsy shop where she sells LGBTQIA+ positive stationery and stickers, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Trevor Project. Fifth grade: Yonina Lermer

Yonina is a New York State Licensed Teacher with a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Jewish Studies. With over 13 years of education experience, Yonina has taught almost every grade level and subject in elementary and middle school. In addition, Yonina has served in her current position as Curriculum Coordinator for Elementary School Literacy. In this role, she has coached many teachers on how to teach children to read and write and how to implement curricula in an engaging way. After completing a two-year mentoring program, Yonina is also a teacher mentor, working with new teachers as they enter the education field. She has worked in a variety of roles at summer camps and youth programs for over a decade. Yonina has a passion for connecting with others and helping them succeed. (She's also very fond of pizza.) Advanced English/Language Arts: Sean Hogen

Sean is an ELA teacher at a middle school in central Pennsylvania, and in his classroom, they place a strong emphasis on telling their stories through personal narrative and spoken-word poetry. Inside and outside of the classroom, Sean works to empower both students and teachers to change our world for the better. In his previous lives, he helped create baseball cards, newspaper ads, and textbooks, and in his free time enjoys hiking, listening to music, and writing. Mathematics upper level: Erika Brunnmeier
