We are excited to launch our first-ever Advisory Board of educators and thought leaders from across the United States this year. Our Advisory Board members will use their valuable experience and expertise to strengthen our content and community here at WeAreTeachers. We are happy to have them on board!
Patty McGee
Patty McGee is the author of Feedback that moves writers forward: How to escape proofreading mode to transform student writing and was a national and international literacy consultant.
She hosts the podcast Teachers Talk Shop. her latest book, Writers Workshop made easy: 7 essentials for every classroom and every writerwill be released in July 2021. You can find her on Facebook and Twitter.
Towanda Harris
dr Towanda Harris“Teaching, writing, and research assist educators in critically considering instructional resources and practices through a critical lens that helps teachers align their understanding of their students' needs with their individual goals.
She works to elevate teachers' voices through her podcast, My Two Cents. Towanda is the author of The Right Tools: A Guide to Selecting, Evaluating, and Implementing Instructional Resources and Practices.

Paul France
Paul Emeric France is a National Board-certified teacher, literacy specialist, and author of two books, Reclaim Personalized Learning and Humanization of distance learning.
He has been teaching preschool and elementary school children for over a decade and recently opened his own private teaching and counseling practice in Chicago, Illinois, where he resides.

Shannon Webster
Shannon Webster is a New Jersey special education teacher who is raising the standards of what a resource room looks like in an elementary school.
As a certified Orton Gillingham teacher, she is focused on empowering students to achieve their full potential despite a diagnosis.
Over the last 7 years, she has integrated a balanced literacy approach and an inquiry-based mathematical mindset, bringing students with IEPs to class-level standards. You can find them on Twitter.
Julia Stern
Julia Stern is the bestselling author of Learning that implements, Visible Learning for Social Studiesand Tools for teaching conceptual understanding, elementary and secondary school.
She is the thought leader behind the global workshop series Making Sense of Learning Transfer and is a certified Visible Learning Plus trainer.

Kayisha Edwards
Kayisha Edwards is dual certified to teach special education in grades 1-8 and general education in grades 1-6.
She currently works as a middle school learning specialist, creating, revising, and implementing IEPs for students. Kayisha also consults with general educators in all academic subjects on accessibility and instructional development. She has lectured at the National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE) in 2017 and 2019.
In 2021, Kayisha collaborated with another educator and shared her thoughts on anti-racist and intersectional teaching ideas for the classroom in a conversation recorded for Benchmark Education.
Anel Suriel
Anel V Suriel is a graduate student at Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
Her research interests broadly include language education policy, language teacher education, anti-racist education, and the identity formation of bilingual/multilingual students in American classrooms.
She was a bilingual literacy teacher for grades 3-8. Anel currently teaches theory and methodology courses in the language education department at Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
anthony kim
anthony kim is a Corwin Press bestselling author, with publications including New team habits, New school rulesand Personalized learning book.
He writes about leadership, team motivation and improving the way we work. Anthony is also the founder of Education Elements, a consulting firm with a mission to help education leaders prepare their systems for the next generation of learners.

Fred Dillon
Fred Dillon has over 35 years of classroom teaching at grades 7-12 and post-secondary level. He is also a math coach.
Fred's work focuses on teaching equitably, enhancing students' math identity, and promoting math agency. Because of his numerous opportunities to work with districts whose students are traditionally underserved and underfunded, and his work with researchers and the university mathematics education community, he is able to cover many aspects of the world of practitioners and researchers.
Fred is also the co-author of NCTM's Principles of action: Ensure mathematical success for all, Take action: implement effective math teaching practices in grades 9-12, and discovering lessons for the Common Core State Standards in grades 9-12. Keep finding him Twitter.
Jane Esposito
dr Jane Esposito has been a school psychologist on the Child Study Team at Sparta High School in Sparta, NJ since 2000.
In 2019, she helped make Sparta High School's Align Wellness Center a reality. It's an all-inclusive counseling center that includes wellness classes like meditation, mindfulness, yoga with monthly vlogs and webinars for student and staff mental health issues.
She is also an NJ licensed psychologist who has been in private practice since 2005.
CC Bates
dr CC Bates is Professor of Literacy Education at Clemson University, where she is also Director of the Early Literacy Center.
CC's research focuses on using digital tools to enhance and deliver the professional development of reading interventionists and K-2 classroom teachers.
She has published two new books: Interactive Writing and The next steps forward in breaking records: Getting to the core of effective teaching through deeper qualitative analysis. Keep finding her Twitter.
