Space-Savvy Garden Studio and Office in London Charms with Adaptable Design
A garden studio and workspace is one that can make balancing your work and personal life much easier. That is exactly what you get with the beautiful Light Shed behind a classic London home, created to offer the homeowner a beautiful home office that offers privacy and can also be used as a perfect gathering place for friends and family. the lightscale was designed by Richard John Andrews and took a total of just over 3 weeks of construction to erect the structure. It's a modular timber framing system that gets the job done here, while metal on the outside gives the studio a unique look. A sliding door provides additional storage, while individual seating in the garden adds to the relaxing appeal.

The shed takes its name from the unique polycarbonate roof panels which allow in ample natural light and ensure the shed remains lit at all times. Inside the office there is enough work space for two or three people and shelves that can be slid above provide the necessary storage and display space. On weekdays the shed can be used as a workspace and on the weekends it can easily host a small party with a few minor configuration changes. Sliding doors connect the interior to the garden outside, with a small bathroom completing the studio. [Photography: Chris Snook]

The Light Shed - is phase 2 of my approach to create a holistic studio, office and store without the pressures of commercial renting and the rigid location that comes with owning an office. Focusing on family, play and work as the trifecta of interconnected programs that are organic and flow with the changing circumstances of our digitally nomadic lifestyle and ethos.
